The predecessor of Baoding Tianwei Baobian Electric Co., Ltd. is Baoding Transformer Factory, which was founded in 1958. As one of the 100 pilot enterprises of the State Council for establishing the modern-enterprise system, approved by National Development and Reform Commission and Hebei Provincial Government, Baoding Transformer Factory was restructured to become an enterprise group authorized by the state to manage the state-owned assets in June 1995. In the recent years, starting from the actual status of the enterprises, adhering to the basic concept of “Establishing Group, Managing Assets, Restructuring Industries and Pursuing Development” for modern enterprise system reform and the operating strategy of “One Core Industry with Multi-operations for All-round Development”, our company, Baoding Tianwei Baobian Electric Co., Ltd., now is become a large company which is specializing in manufacturing large transformers. After Baoding Tianwei Baobian Electric Co., Ltd. was founded, it was certified to meet the standards of high and new technology enterprise and achieved the Double High-Tech Certification by the Ministry of Science and Technology and Chinese Academy of Sciences at the end of 1999. In August 2000, our company passed the normal operation acceptance by China Securities Regulatory Commission. On January 12, 2001, our company was listed in the name of “Tianwei Baobian” at Shanghai Stock Exchange, and issued 60 million shares of Stock A by means of network pricing, raising fund of RMB 0.52 billion. Our company has developping rapidly since then. We successively established Xinyu Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd on the basis of information technology development and developing online monitoring devices for transformers as its representative products; Baoding Yingli New Energy Source Co., Ltd. specializing in manufacturing polysilicon solar batteries. All of these have established a solid foundation for the further development of our company.

　　Since the transformer factory was founded in 1958, the technology of our company has made great strides. In 1960, we manufactured 10kV transformers; in 1964, we manufactured 35kV transformers; in 1966, we carried out pilot manufacturing of 110kV transformers; in 1969, we carried out pilot manufacturing of  220kV transformers; in 1983, we manufactured 500kV transformers; in 2003, we manufactured 750kV level transformers, which characterizes the highest voltage level in China; In July 2003, our company won the contract for supplying the 750kV main transformers of Northwest China 750kV Transmission and Substation Demonstration Project; in April 2004, our company won the bid for supplying main transformers of the project of Huaneng Yuhuan Power plant 4×1000MW Generating units which are the first 1000 MW units in China; in April 2005, our company won the bid for supplying the 800 kV main transformers of Qinghai Yellow River Laxiwa Hydropower Station Project, which ranks the highest voltage level in China at present.And in December 2006,we successfully won the bid for supplying 4 sets 1000MVA/1000kV ODFPS transformers for Southeast Sanxi substation 1000KV extra-high voltage AC demonstration project of the State Grid Corporation, which contract value is reached 181.2 million RMB. Up to now, our company has manufactured more than 300 main transformers for matching the generating units with capacity below 200 MW; more than 190 main transformers for matching the generating units with capacity of 300 MW; more than 190 main transformers for matching the generating units with capacity from 500 MW to 1000 MW; and at the same time, manufactured more than 400 all kinds of split transformers used as factory standby transformers, HV transformers accordingly. Up to now, 500kV transformers still boast the unusual glory of zero accident rate. Many technologies of the 500 kV transformers manufactured by our company have filled domestic technical blanks, and won the Prize of State Key Technology and Equipment Excellent Project awarded by State Key Technology and Equipment Office of State Council. At present, all kinds of 500kV and power transformers below manufactured by our company has been listed into the recommended manufacturer list of the accessory equipment for the generating units with capacity from 50MW to 600MW by Ministry of Power Industry.
